My review of the Derma Nature Fresh Blackhead Jojoba Cleansing Oil by the skincare brand Celimax, a great affordable option!

I don’t know about you, but I’m picky when it comes to cleansing oils! I have very specific criteria, and when I find one that suits me, I usually stick with it. But sometimes, I let my curiosity win, and I look at other products… and in this case, it was a great idea! Let me introduce you to the Celimax Derma Nature Fresh Blackhead Jojoba Cleansing Oil because, let me tell you, this one is a gem!

I know I haven’t done a cleanser review in a while. And I plead guilty, I don’t find it a very fascinating product category, so I’m not always super motivated to write tons of articles about it…

Also, as I said above, I’m not particularly interested in trying lots of new things in this category. I tend to stick to my usual favorites!

But I have to say, if I venture out to try something else, it’s very satisfying when I find a cleanser/ makeup remover that ticks all my boxes and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. In general, cleansers / makeup removers, are products that you finish fairly quickly, and need to refill frequently, so if they aren’t pricey, it’s always better. 🙂

During my perusing of various K-Beauty eshops, I came across the Celimax Derma Nature Fresh Blackhead Jojoba Cleansing Oil several times. I liked the bottle and the price, so I added it to my cart.

Celimax is a relatively new Korean skincare brand, which doesn’t really have a very original and unique identity, in my opinion. That being said, the products in the range are basics (which isn’t a bad thing, basics are often essential in skincare!), and they are also pretty affordable with appealing formulas.

In my experience, this kind of brand is usually interesting on classic products like cleansers, and indeed: after using it, I can definitely say that this makeup remover oil turned out to be a very good pick!

In fact, I’m already on my second bottle of this Celimax Derma Nature Fresh Blackhead Jojoba Cleansing Oil! It’s about time I introduce it to you! 😀

Review: Belif Aqua Bomb Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm Skincare Review: Belif Aqua Bomb Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm I know, I know, I rarely do cleanser reviews on here. I’ll admit it, they are not the most fascinating category of products for me. But when I find one cleansing product that does the job, and that is also great to use, I feel like I have to dedicate a review to it! So today, let me introduce you to the super delicious Aqua Bomb Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm from the Korean skincare brand Belif… Read more

Celimax Derma Nature Fresh Blackhead Jojoba Cleansing Oil, product presentation:

If you know me a little, you must know I’m a firm believer in double cleansing at night. There’s no better way to get rid of all the dust and impurities of the day, as well as makeup and residues of sunscreen that are designed to stick to the skin!

I’ll take this opportunity to remind you once and for all: no, wearing makeup every day doesn’t damage your skin, as long as you religiously remove it every night 😉.

And if you want to remove your makeup perfectly without damaging your skin, double cleansing is definitely ideal.

Hey, it could be what helps you find the exact skincare product you were looking for.
We wouldn't want you missing out on that now, would we :)

As a reminder, double cleansing means that you first remove your makeup with an oil-based product like an oil or a cleansing balm that will dissolve all the pigments, sunscreens and fine pollution dust. And I promise it won’t “grease” your skin! These products are water soluble, which means their texture changes on contact with water, so they can easily be rinsed off without leaving a greasy residue.

In the second step, you then cleanse the skin of its excess sebum and impurities with a gentle product such as a foaming gel or cleansing milk/cream that rinses off with water.

The result: the skin is completely clean without being damaged, and it’s also free of impurities that can end up irritating it.

Makeup removal is also a step that can be very pleasant. This is where the texture of the products you use will make all the difference!

And I’m a big fan of fluid cleansing oils that glide over the skin, and that allow you to massage it without rubbing, for at least one or two minutes! The big plus of fluid oils is that they are not too thick, so they rinse off much more easily and do not leave a greasy residue on the skin! Even though I always do a second cleanse afterwards, I appreciate not spending hours trying to rinse off my cleansing oil 😉.

And this Celimax Cleansing Oil is just one of the most fluid cleansing oils I’ve tried. Its texture is incredibly lightweight, it feels super silky on the skin! Its finish is non greasy and turns into a milky emulsion on contact with warm water. Here, it’s called a water-soluble oil (which means it “breaks” on contact with water and turns into a fine milky emulsion that rinses off perfectly without leaving a greasy residue on the skin).

I’m not a fan of heavy oil cleansers that require a damp cloth to rinse off. I don’t have particularly sensitive skin, but the contact with the warm flannel usually leaves my skin red and irritated. So the easier a makeup remover is to rinse off with water, the better I like it for my skin!

Celimax Derma Nature Fresh Blackhead Jojoba Cleansing Oil does not contain mineral oil (often found in these types of products). Instead, there are other cleansing ingredients (such as Ethylhexyl Palmitate) that have the same properties as mineral oil and which help to clean and dissolve impurities gently.

In this cleansing oil, there are many different plant oils that help to dissolve impurities and leave the skin feeling comfortable, such as:
Almond oil,
Olive oil,
Jojoba oil,
Meadowfoam Seed oil,
Apricot Kernel oil,
Grape Seed oil,
Sunflower oil,
– but also essential oils, providing moderate fragrance to the product (here, it’s Bergamot).

It also contains alcohol, which can be problematic for some, but on me, it is absolutely not irritating. On the contrary, I find its formula super gentle! I imagine it is thanks to the alcohol that it contains that its formula is so fluid and lightweight.

But I reiterate, even in the long term, I have felt no irritation with this oil!

Celimax Derma Nature Fresh Blackhead Jojoba Cleansing Oil, my experience:

I first used the Celimax cleansing oil at the beginning of the summer (last year) and its fluid texture was just perfect for the hot season! But I continued to use it this winter as well (with a second bottle) and I also found it extremely pleasant. For me, it is definitely a “fit all seasons” cleansing oil!

I believe sensoriality is obviously important with a cleansing product. And this oil is very sensorial with its silky and lightweight texture, and its fresh scent!

Not only is it refreshing to use, but you can massage it everywhere to dissolve impurities and makeup. Especially around the eyes, and it doesn’t sting at all.

It does the job very well and perfectly removes all my makeup, including my waterproof products, like my mascara. Everything dissolves under my fingers while I massage it, a real joy! (I’ve described more detailed directions on how to use it below 😉)

If you’re like me, and sometimes need a little boost to encourage you to remove your makeup at night when you’re tired, the perspective of using this product that is so fresh and enjoyable is excellent motivation!

The size of the bottle is 150ml, which usually lasts me 2 or 3 months.

In conclusion:

This Celimax Derma Nature Fresh Blackhead Jojoba Cleansing Oil is a brilliant discovery!

It’s effective, gentle, super pleasant to use, and it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. And its bottle is minimalist chic as I like! I know it’s not the most important thing, but aesthetics matter! (especially when you photograph your products 😉)

The Celimax Derma Nature Fresh Blackhead Jojoba Cleansing Oil retails between $10 and $18 for 150ml depending on the retailers.

packaging

A transparent lilac plastic bottle with a pump, simple but pretty.

fragrance

Slightly fresh and aromatic, very pleasant.

texture

A fluid oil, which melts on the skin and is easy to massage. It then transforms into a fine milky emulsion on contact with water. It is perfectly water-soluble (it can be rinsed off with water without leaving a greasy residue).

For Who

All skin types, all ages.

Concerns

To remove the makeup (including waterproof products), sunscreen products and pollution dust (you can’t remove them with a cleansing gel, it’s better to use oil to “break” them).

Method

I use the Celimax Derma Nature Fresh Blackhead Jojoba Cleansing Oil in the evening at the very beginning of my skincare routine. I systematically do a double cleanse when I wear make-up and/or when I wear a sunscreen. This cleansing oil is my first cleanse.

I take 2 to 3 pumps of product and apply it to my face, neck, and eyes, on my dry skin. Its fluid texture melts on contact with the skin and it becomes more liquid and silky. I massage it gently with my fingertips to dissolve makeup and impurities.
I rinse my hands and pass my wet hands over my face, neck, and eyes to emulsify the product (= I gently massage my skin in circular motions). It becomes a fine milk. I finish by simply rinsing it with water.

For the second step of the double cleanse, I then proceed with a foaming gel to cleanse my skin.

    • Hi!
I can’t really tell you from experience because I don’t have dry skin and I don’t single cleanse. But technically, this product is recommended for all skin types and it’s a cleanser, so it should work! 🙂
