A mini-review of the Honey Drop, a moisturizer by the “green” American brand Farmacy. Check the details of its ingredients list and the results on my skin!
A moisturizing cream with a yummy texture, perfect for the season and that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, seems quite tempting, doesn’t it? Let me introduce you in more detail to Honey Drop, a lightweight moisturizer echinacea honey from the American “green” brand Farmacy!
I first encountered the brand Farmacy a little over 2 years ago, when I was on holiday in the United States. At the time, they had just launched at Sephora. I didn’t purchase anything at the time, but the brand seemed promising and I was tempted!
Farmacy products all contain extracts from a flower, the Echinacea GreenEnvy, which was first discovered in northern New York State.
This plant, patented and exclusive to Farmacy, contains 300% more natural antioxidants in its roots than ordinary echinacea. The brand uses it in all its products and also makes honey with it, which is also used in the formulas.
Farmacy is a “green” but above all an ethical brand. They work with local farmers to ensure better quality ingredients, grown in an environmentally friendly way. They notably have partnerships with two organic farms: Willow Wisp Organic Farm in Pennsylvania and Patent Wall Organic Farm in the Catskills, both grow the echinacea flowers used in Farmacy products.
Having a “clean” requirement in the formulation of their products, they also avoid using certain ingredients in their formulas (for example, silicones, parabens, formaldehyde, synthetic perfume, dyes, phatlates, mineral oils, SLS/SLES, TEA, DEA, DEA, MEA, GMOS…).
Even if I am less obsessed with silicones than I was before, I’m still happy when I manage to find a silicone-free moisturizer! Because if you hunt them down, you may have noticed that the cosmetic brands that don’t use this ingredient are quite rare. Many American brands, claiming to be “clean skincare”, still use them in many of their products.
I already mentioned it several times, but personally, I avoid silicones especially when they are in large quantities in a product because my skin tends to react to them (they tend to clog my pores).
That being said, if there is just a small amount in the composition, or if they’re volatile silicones, I don’t deprive myself of trying the product and my skin doesn’t seem to mind too much. But I’m still convinced that they’re not the most interesting ingredient out there and that there are ingredients that are also less polluting for the environment that you could use instead!
Now that this topic is out of the way, let’s focus instead on what’s in this Honey Drop moisturizer and not just what it doesn’t contain, shall we?
Mini-review:
Because the list of ingredients in Honey Drop cream is quite tempting! Honey, propolis, fermented ingredients, hyaluronic acid and cupuaçu butter balls (an Amazonian superfruit) that melt on the skin upon application: it honestly looks like the recipe of a tempting dessert!
The texture definitely reminds me of honey and it is a real pleasure to apply it on my skin in the morning. It feels very comfortable without being too heavy, I find it perfect for the season (we can finally go outdoors here in Dubai, “winter” is finally here!).
For me, it’s an ideal moisturizer for the morning: it leaves my skin hydrated but not greasy, it protects against pollution and environmental aggressions with its ingredients rich in antioxidants, it works great as a makeup base… it ticks all the boxes!
It’s also easier to find than before. Here in Dubai, I order it from Cult Beauty. And the price is decent: about $45 for 50ml (it lasts me about 3 months by using it once a day).
In conclusion:
In short, I’m very happy with it and I definitely plan to repurchase it in the future!
Of course, I have other products from the brand on my radar, such as their honey face mask and their cleansing balm. If I end up buying them, I’ll definitely tell you more about them! 😉
Have you tried the ? Feel free to give me your thoughts in the comments! 🙂

Pros
- the formula full of good ingredients, with very few "filling" ingredients, it's clearly a "clean" skincare formula here,
- the formula is perfect to use in the morning with its antioxidant and moisturizing ingredients,
- the very nice texture, this gel-cream /"sorbet" effect melts on the skin and "quenches" the skin immediately without any greasy effect,
- the fresh and natural scent (with no synthetic fragrance added),
- the glossy finish left on the skin, which gives a very fresh effect to the complexion,
- the nice packaging with the magnetic wooden cap for the metal spatula, it's quite fun (and very Instagram-worthy!).
Cons
- if I'm being picky, I'd say that would have preferred an air-less jar packaging, I'm not a fan of classic jar packaging that doesn't protect the formula from the air as well.

Key Ingredients
The Honey Drop moisturizer contains many natural ingredients, and as its name suggests, quite a few products from the hive:
– Echinacea flower GreenEnvyTM, exclusive to the Farmacy brand, with an antioxidant effect,
– GreenEnvyTM Echinacea Honey, moisturizing and antioxidant,
– Propolis, anti-bacterial, repairing,
– Cupuaçu butter beads, an Amazonian superfruit, that moisturizes the skin and gives comfort,
– Fermented soya, for the repairing effect,
– Hyaluronic acid of three different molecular weights for a multi-level skin hydration and to help it regain its firmness and elasticity,
– many other natural plant extracts (eggplant, basil, turmeric, aloe vera, mistletoe…) and vegetable oils (lime seed oil, camellia seed oil…) for their repairing and hydrating effects.
There is also a very small amount of alcohol in the formula (at the very end of the formula), but it’s not enough to sensitize the skin, in my opinion.
