My review of the Theracne 365 Clear Deep Cleansing Foam from the Korean skincare brand Aestura, which is much gentler than it looks!

“An acne cleansing cream, Bonnie? But aren’t you a little past your teenage years? 😅” That’s sort of what I thought when I opened a press sample shipment last summer with a selection of products to try, and which contained this purifying cleansing cream. Then I looked at the list of ingredients and thought that it was probably worth overcoming my biases and testing it. Well, let’s just say that the Aestura Theracne 365 Clear Deep Cleansing Foam is now one of my go-to cleansers. Let me tell you why!

I’ve mentioned it several times in my previous reviews. I’m pretty loyal to my cleansers. When I find one that works for me, I hold on to it! For the past couple of years, I’ve been loyal to the CeraVe Hydrating Cream To Foam Cleanser for my evening cleanse, and I wasn’t really looking to change…

And then last summer, I received a package from the Korean online store Olive Young that sent me several Aestura products to try. I jumped on the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Hydro Soothing gel cream (see my review), which I loved.

But for the Aestura Theracne 365 Clear Deep Cleansing Foam, I wasn’t so sure. I thought it might be a bit too harsh for my 40-something skin…

And when I looked into the Aestura brand after trying and loving the gel cream, I realized their products were consistently extremely gentle. And reading the description of the cleanser and its list of ingredients made me think it could actually work for me!

So I tested it… And repurchased it, several times! Let me tell you everything about it! 😉

Review: Aestura Atobarrier 365 Hydro Soothing Cream Skincare Review: Aestura Atobarrier 365 Hydro Soothing Cream This summer, my skin struggled. So I started looking for the perfect product for this extreme climate, and fortunately, I can always count on K-Beauty to save the day! Aestura Theracne 365 Clear Deep Cleansing Foam, product presentation:

If you don’t know the Korean skincare brand Aestura, here’s a reminder:

At first, I thought that Aestura was a bit like the Korean CeraVe, with its medical austerity and its formulas respectful of the skin barrier… But as is often the case with Korean skincare, there’s a bit of extra innovation and technology, and especially those insanely amazing textures that make all the difference.

Founded in 1983 by the Amorepacific group, Aestura is a Korean skincare brand specialized in the treatment of damaged skin. Initially, only available in hospitals, the brand has expanded its range to include products sold in conventional cosmetic stores.

Focusing primarily on the basic functions and mechanisms of the skin, Aestura has developed its skincare line based on recognized scientific and medical research.

Hey, it could be what helps you find the exact skincare product you were looking for.
We wouldn't want you missing out on that now, would we :)

Their major innovation, the DermaON technology, is Aestura’s proprietary complex of ingredients found in most of the products in the line. The patented DermaOn technology comprises a three-ingredient encapsulation called the “Triple Lipid-Capsule” composed of ceramides, fatty acids and cholesterol, a magical trio of ingredients naturally found in the lipid layers of the skin barrier, which form what is known as intercellular cement. The latter is essential to keep the skin well hydrated and healthy.

Their best seller is undoubtedly the AtoBarrier 365 cream, a rich repair cream perfect for dry, damaged skin, which needs a lot of comfort. In its texture, you can actually spot the little “Triple Lipid-Capsules”, which is actually pretty fun 😉.

But the range I’ll focus on today is quite different; it’s the Theracne 365 line, which takes care of acne-prone skin, by helping it to rebalance for a clear skin result.

The range includes several products, with different cleansers. The cleansing cream is our topic of the day: the Aestura Theracne 365 Clear Deep Cleansing Foam.

This purifying cleansing cream was designed to remove impurities that clog pores, but also dead skin cells that can ultimately cause breakouts on acne-prone skin.

But contrary to what one might fear, this product manages to deeply and effectively cleanse the skin without stripping it.

And for that, the brand relied on a specific approach: the combination of non-stripping cleansing ingredients, which cleanse while respecting the skin barrier, and a super mild exfoliating ingredient, for a gentle smoothing effect.

The whole formula is really super gentle, with a very light exfoliating effect, and with ingredients that respect the skin barrier.

With, in particular:
amino acids, naturally present in the skin and therefore very well tolerated,
gluconolactone, a PHA, which is a gentle exfoliating ingredient,
glycerin and hyaluronic acid for hydration,
– and soothing allantoin.

All this in a pH-neutral formula, suitable for combination to oily skin, to deeply cleanse without stripping.

This neutral pH detail bothered me a bit at first, as I much prefer acidic pH for my cleansers, but I must admit that I didn’t feel the difference on my skin when I used it, and it wasn’t sensitized at all in the long run, quite the contrary.

I’m not sure if this cream cleanser is suitable for dry to very dry skin, but if you have combination skin, even very dehydrated skin like I do, you should enjoy it. 🙂

Aestura Theracne 365 Clear Deep Cleansing Foam, my experience:

When I received this cleansing cream, it was last summer. And usually, when I spend the summer in Dubai, I already mentioned it, everything is complicated for my skin.

It’s very hot and humid, so I need a cleanser that will really get rid of all the impurities, dust, pollution, sweat… In summer, I don’t know about you, but I always feel like my skin is “dirtier” than usual.

But, the air conditioning that is everywhere and all the time also weakens my skin. So I have to find products that are light enough not to suffocate my skin, but that bring me enough hydration, or even a soothing effect to relieve it. I explained all this in my review of the Aestura gel cream last year.

And for the cleansers, it’s the same: I need a product that deeply cleanses my skin, but also gently, without leaving it weakened.

And this is exactly what this Aestura Theracne 365 Clear Deep Cleansing Foam does! With the added bonus of a very mild exfoliating effect, which is always welcome for me, who doesn’t really use exfoliating acids in my routine anymore due to retinoids. 😉

It really helps to purify my skin, but leaving it all soft and super comfortable. I really enjoyed it during the warm season last year. This winter, I’ve been alternating it with my favorite CeraVe Hydrating Cream To Foam Cleanser but I definitely plan to start using it again in a few weeks, as soon as the temperature gets above 35 degrees Celsius (which, unfortunately, will be any day now 😭).

I especially love using it at night, when I need a deep cleanse to properly remove the last traces of sunscreen and makeup from the day.

After massaging it into my skin for 30 seconds to 1 minute, I simply rinse it off with warm water and my skin is perfectly clean, smooth, but not tight. It is super comfortable!

The squeezable tube is very convenient, and I use about a small amount of product for my face, neck and décolleté. I usually get about 4-5 months of use out of it, using it only at night. For the price, I’d say it’s pretty decent!

In conclusion:

I didn’t believe it at first when I saw the product description, but I have to admit that this Aestura cleansing cream is effective. It keeps its promises and it does the job really well. When I use it, my skin is clean, supple and even smoothed out in the long run!

I’ve already repurchased it several times after receiving it from the brand last year, and I don’t think I’ll stop! 😉

Method

I use the Aestura Theracne 365 Clear Deep Cleansing Foam in the morning at the very beginning of my skincare routine and in the evening after I have removed my makeup with my cleansing oil or balm.
I take one or two pumps of product and apply it to my face and neck, on wet skin. Its liquid gel texture turns into a fine foam. For one minute (or 30 seconds if my skin is a little sensitized), I gently massage it with my fingertips on my face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
After one minute, I rinse it with tepid water.

I usually love using this cleanser during the warm season. And when it’s cooler, I use the CeraVe Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser instead.
